The architrave that I had removed was a standard 70mm width, so I opted to replace it with a wider 95mm architrave so that it would be wide enough to mask any damage that may have happened to the plaster when the … WebThe only problem with fitting new architraves and skirting before you plaster is losing your margins as the thickness of the new plaster which is approximately 6mm will then cover your architraves and skirting so therefore plaster first and fill the gap between door frame and architraves with a 2 part wood filler.
