The reason I'm asking, is because the wire is kind of short. To run across to the neutral bus, I would have to splice an extension to the the AFCI white pigtail wire, and run the extension over to the neutral bus.

An AFCI works by continuously monitoring the current flowing through the circuit. WebDisconnect the load power and the load neutral wires from the AFCI. If it continues to trip, the AFCI may be damaged and should be replaced. If it is not obvious whether the problem is in the AFCI or the circuit, replace the AFCI with a new one. If the new AFCI does not trip, it is likely that the old one was damaged.
